New Switching Regulators

New voltage options for drop-in replacement PT78ST1xx series regulators

High Efficiency, +12 and +15VDC, 2Amp, Step-Down Converter / Switching Regulators added to the LS78ST1xx product line

Following the success of the LS78ST105 5V replacement regulator, LSI Controls, Inc., is pleased to add small footprint, high efficiency, 12 and 15 VDC Integrated Switching Regulators to the line. With a 33% greater current rating (2A continuous / 3A peak), the LS78ST1xx series are higher power pin compatible drop-in replacements for the now obsolete TI/Power Trends PT78ST1xx regulators. The LS78ST1xx follows the same pinout and footprint as the PT78ST1xx. The installed surface mount height of the LSI equivalent is only 0.17” taller to deliver additional current capacity. The product line is offered in horizontal or vertical thru-hole or surface mount configurations. ...more

+/- 15 VDC Step-up Switching Regulators

Pin compatible drop in +/- 15VDC replacement for the TI or Power Trends PN: PT5061A

High Efficiency, Dual Output ±15VDC, 1Amp, Switching Regulator from +5VDC source
Drop-in replacement for TI or Power Trends PN: PT5061A

The LS5061A is a dual output 1 Amp step-up switching regulator as a direct drop-in replacement for the obsolete PT5061A. The LS5061A operates on the standard 5VDC input voltage range and delivers 1 Amp continuous (2A peak) +15VDC and 500mA continuous (1A peak) on the negative 15V side. With a unique Idle Mode™ control scheme, the controller operates in PWM mode at medium and heavy loads for lowest noise and optimum efficiency, then pulses only as needed (with reduced inductor current) to reduce operating current and maximize efficiency under light loads. Offered in horizontal or vertical thru-hole or surface mount configurations. ...more
